Angel of Hope (AOH) was established in 2017 when the Lord laid on our hearts to attend to the teenage boys and girls of Southern Haiti. Most of these innocent children were victims of neglect, abuse, and severe poverty, lacking the survival skills needed in not only physical ways but a spiritual way as well. God opened our hearts to the needy teens of Port-Au-Prince in particular. We knew that if someone did not reach out in order to make a difference, the potential of an entire generation of young people would have vanished. We could not just sit back and allow these precious souls to feel as if all hope was lost in their given situation. AOH ministry was underway! These dear teenagers not only need to know the skills necessary as they are about to embark on their adult lives but that their spiritual well-being is of utmost concern as well. They need to not only have the skills and hope that will carry them on into adulthood but to know of a Savior that loves them with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3).To this day, our ministry has equipped nearly 100 teenagers with these important life-skills. Some of these young people have been brought to us because they were orphans and had no other way of escaping a life of poverty. God has certainly laid such a burden for them for we know that they are a heritage from Him (Psalm 127:3). We have since begun to distribute school supplies to even more teenagers as well as some basic necessities of life to the less fortunate elderly. Praise be to God for His guiding hand and the help of our donors! Our vision moving forward is one that is very exciting! We plan on training young men in areas of welding and carpentry while training the young ladies in areas of sewing and cooking among many others. What a promising future it is! The task seems at times to be overwhelming, and the work seems at times to never end, but by the grace of God we have been given the strength to carry out such an endeavor worthy of our King! Our commission is one that has been given to us from on high, that those we minister to would come to know the loving grace of Jesus Christ and be discipled to serve Him wholeheartedly (Matthew 28: 19-20).
